Winter Morning: The Power of Storytelling

On this winter morning, I'm sharing a vivid narrative from the Boston Globe.

If you have ever taken the Boston Red Line, the view of the Charles River from the subway on the Longfellow Bridge can take your breath away.

I love this quote from a commuter that draws you in, “I like looking over the city on my way in...imagining going into this metropolis and where I fit in." The article is so descriptive it speaks to the power of a good story.

It reminded me how great communications is about engaging your audiences' imagination so they become part of your brand experience. Put another way, it's about crafting a moment, or an invitation try on someone else's shoes.

Certainly, the country's oldest subway system is not without its major troubles--but the view from this 1906 Salt-and-Pepper Bridge isn't one of them. It's a nickname that stuck because the central towers look like shakers.

Do you have a story about a favorite brand moment?
